As promised, some pictures from my skydiving experience...
It was such a surreal moment...
So, on the 26th of May I finally made it to a DZ. I've been wanting to
skydive for a while now, but circumstances always arose, preventing me from
making that jump from the sky. Somehow I found several other people at the U of C
looking to have a little bit of fun. Little did I know that it would rain that day.
*Sigh* Nothing seemed to be going right... That is, until we were invited
by the wonderful people at Skydive Chicago to spend the night.
The 27th of May proved to be a wonderful day. On this day I flew.
For that brief minute I was floating in the sky, without a thought in my mind.
One minute of shear bliss...
Many thanks to T.C. for keeping me from falling straight down to earth, Matt and Mihra for joining me in this great adventure, and Skydive Chicago for being the the best DZ in the country. A special thanks to God for keeping all of us safe.
Here I am with T.C., Mihra, and Gene moments before entering the plane | Jump out the plane at 1500 ft | Can't beat the view | Woohoo! |
*sigh* Did I really jump out of a perfectly good airplane?
So, on Sunday, November 4, 2001 I did it again. I jumped out of an airplane for the second time and it was just... No words can come close to describing the feeling. Amazing doesn't even come close to the feeling of flying. It was an absolutely gorgeous day. I didn't know what it was like for humans to fly... but now... now I have a little sense for it and it is absolutely intoxicating. Big thanks to Johnny, my tandem master, Judy and Shayl for being the only brave souls in Maclean to try something crazy, Mihra for jumping with me again. And of course, the biggest thanks to Skydive Chicago giving us the chance to fly high above the clouds...Blue skies!
