A new look

I have decided that my archaic design was due for a change. Eventually, I will move the site to a new domain and different publishing methods. But until then, I think this will work.

Sports and Honesty

of late, we have all heard about the various sport scandals involving athletes trying to gain an upper hand on their competition through illegal or unconventional ways--cheating. Cheating should not be condoned, especially sports, where millions of fans are looking up to their idols as role models. It's an interesting turn of events now that we want to consume organic food and all the health-conscious food that others look toward pharms as a lifestyle--knowing that such artificial materials are harmful to the body--not to mention detrimental to a lot other people. And for what? A piece of the glory? A victim-less crime? If one doesn't get caught, it's still ok to cheat? Cheating has been going on for ages in sports, why now are we making a big deal?

I can't help but wonder about honesty and how it is becoming a lost virtue. Sometimes, it does take a brave person to admit to the truth. Do sport celebrities want an asterisk to their name forever? In the public eye, I think honesty is the best policy because the public can forgive and forget an honest man. But it will never do the same to cheating suspects. then again, because the public does not know the truth, it is most likely to suspect those who try to divert from it. I guess it all depends on who the burden of proof falls upon. The public or the suspect? In this country, we are all innocent until proven guilty. Ideally, at least. Therefore, unless we find the smoking gun, every suspected sport cheater is innocent and each and one of them can continue to deny allegations even if they know themselves that they are guilty. Sad, but true.

Way Past Due

I can't believe that I have not updated my blogs in a long time. Hopefully I will be more diligent in the future.
