School Rankings
Every year, we are all caught up in the school rankings, either by US News and Report or Princeton Review. Best schools, best dorm, best financial aid...
what about Best Job placement? (ie Best Bang for the Buck?)
Practical aspect of a college or a university is to land a job, and not just any job, but a good job. Many times, a graduate will move to a different major or a completely different career path. How come I haven't seen a ranking about where the graduates go? Sure, a school like the University of Chicago can have the best academics (according to Princeton Review 2007), but it's college graduates often end up going back to school for more schooling or end up a Hyde Park lifer. To me, the best school offer the credential for its graduates to succeed in starting a career, not hurt it. After all, we are paying for a very very expensive education, shouldn't we get equal if not greater financial return?
