Hobby
My parents always promote starting new hobbies, and I'm beginning to take a lot of interest in photography recently.
It is easier to keep interest in a hobby when you have people to share it with, like a hobby-buddy. The hobby-buddy is good for motivation, creativity, and discussion.
I have invested in a good SLR camera a year ago. Now, I have added 3 new camera lens filters and a tripod. My goal is to try to take pictures that resemble what our eyes see. Of course, I have notice (as you might have) that our eyes are far superior than any lens out there. Our eyes are very sensitive to contrast, color balance, brightness, and all the features that you find in the Adobe Photoshop. I have been a bit frustrated at times because what I captured with my camera did not look the same as with my naked eyes. To remedy that, I bought a circular polarizer filter, which will increase contrast and color saturation, as well as a blue filter that will clean up indoor photographs where the lights are overexposed and give yellowish look to the picture. I am also getting into black/white photography, and starting to read up on tricks about B&W pictures, how to take them, and etc.
What I hope to accomplish with my interest in photography is to capture a given moment and preserve it. and eventually, share it.
