The College Dean's office sponsors a number of international activities, language programs, and faculty and student grants.

• the administration of foreign language competency exams and Advanced Language Proficiency exams;
• along with faculty and the Dean of Students office, the office oversees the development, organization and administration of  40 study abroad programs in 18 countries.

We also award several grants to undergraduates including summer FLAGs (Foreign Language Acquisition Grants)  and other Summer International Travel Grants including 3rd year International BA Research awards.

For Faculty, there are Mellon-sponsored faculty incentive grants to support Languages across Chicago (LxC).

Languages Across Chicago (LxC) is a Mellon-sponsored integrated curricular project using primary source documents in foreign languages.
