Originally this project began as an attempt to learn the global impact of the Supreme Court of the United States.  Yet, conceptualization the notion of impact is very difficult.   Also, as a qualitative researcher, I am more concerned with understanding social processes.

My research focus slightly shifted from my original proposal to understanding the social processes by which the justices that sit on national courts use non-domestic (foreign law) and typologizing the ways in which they use foreign law.
