  • I co-organized the Annual International Meetings of the Economic Science Association, which were held here at the Univeristy of Chicago in July.  [July 18, 2010]
  • We received a grant from Cornell to investigate using behavioral economics to impact child food choice in the lunchroom. [June 1, 2011]
  • I presented at the annual BeFi conference on visual analytics and financial decision making. [May 20, 2011]
  • I presented our paper, "An Experimental Study of Information Search and Decision-Making with Interactive Technology," at a RAND Seminar (authored with Ji Soo Yi, Inkyoung Hur and Sung-Hee Kim). [May 20, 2011]
  • I presented our paper, "Giving Behavior Among Young Children: Experimental Evidence of Pure Altruism" at the IFREE/ESI seminar at Chapman University (authored with John List). [March 15, 2011]
  • I received two subawards from the Social Security Administration for my work on applied visual analytics for financial planning, one through the Center for Financial Security and another through the Financial Literacy Center. [January 15, 2011]
  • I presented "Visibility of Contributions and Cost of Information: An Experiment on Public Goods" (joint with Roman Sheremeta) at the Economic Science Association World Meetings in Copenhagen. Special thanks to the nanoHUB for funding this set of projects. [May 28, 2010]
  • I was invited to give a talk at the Krannert School of Management alumni board meeting in April. I discussed my interdisciplinary research and collaboration with various labs on campus and the knowledge gained from doing work in experimental economics. [April 1, 2010]
  • I gave a talk on Visual Presentation   in a graduate class at Purdue University. Concepts from visualization and perception can be used to give a more effective research talk, maximizing information transfer to the audience. [April 1, 2010]
  • I gave a talk about applications of visual analytics to financial decision making in all stages of the lifecycle at the planning meeting on How to Research the Design & Presentation of Financial Options to Retirees at NYU. [Nov. 8, 2009]
  • We received a research grant from the NSF's Science of Science and Innovation Policy (SciSIP) for the next 3 years of work on Applied Visual Analytics for Economic Decision Making (PI: David S. Ebert; Co-Investigators: Anya Savikhin, Tim Cason, David Hummels). [Aug. 12, 2009]
