Omri Ben-Shahar is the Frank & Bernice Greenberg Professor of Law at the University of Chicago Law School, and the Kearny Director of the Institute for Law and Economics.

Ben-Shahar writes and teaches in the areas of contract law, consumer law, insurance law, and law-and-economics.

Prior to joining the University of Chicago, Ben-Shahar was the Kirkland & Ellis Professor of Law and Economics at the University of Michigan (1998-2008). He also taught at Tel-Aviv University (1995-1998).

Ben-Shahar's ongoing work with Carl Schneider on "The Failure of Mandated Disclosure" will be published in a forthcoming book titled "More Than You Wanted To Know: the Failure of Mandated Disclosure" (Princeton Press 2012). An early version of this study is published by the University of Pennsylvania law review.

Ben-Shahar is married to Sarah Clarke and is the father of three (Ziv "Cat", Maya, and Tom). He is an aspiring cook and a coffee roaster. He lives in Hyde Park, Chicago.
