I work mostly in the areas of phonology, phonetics, and morphology.
Under the direction of Professor Alan Yu I worked on The Washo Project. Professor Yu and I produced "The Phonetic Structures of Washo" a poster at the 149th meeting of the ASA in Vancouver. My MA thesis, "On Hiatus Resolution in Washo" also came from work on the Washo Project.
Other interests include General Linguistics, Empirical Linguistics, Optimality Theory, Typology, Modularity in Grammar.
Current research projects:
The effects of speech rate on VOT in Zulu: Stops and Click accompaniments -- My second QP. A statistical analysis of speech rate and subsequent effect on voicing.
Empirical Approaches to Hiatus Resolution Phenomena -- Looking at as a possible dissertation topic. Employing OT typology and raw frequencies to describe and explain the landscape of hiatus resolution strategies.
