A training log with reflections on running and bicycling. From time to time science (work) and children (family) inevitably join to make this a conversational space and open journal.

Learning to breathe

I am slowly learning how to breathe in the pool. Felt like I drank less of it today in any case. 850 meters is pretty good overall and I am eager to work my way up to a mile. I am still a long way from loving the pool, but I can almost believe that I will reach a point where I do not hate it.

Decided to get a VERY short run in to keep everything loose.

Summary Data
Total Time (h:m:s)15:0510:33 pace
Distance (mi )1.43

Footpod data there---but I decided that I could not trust these early pool workouts to keep me in shape so I will need to supplement. It is also probably a good thing to get used to running or biking after being in the pool so that I am ready for a triathlon if every I choose to do one---at this point I would just be getting out of the water when everyone was finished with the other parts. I still have not figured out how to work in the lifting day, but I will figure it out soon. I have been doing crunches and pushups to get my core a little more solid.
