For the first time on this bike, I (a) rode with someone else this morning and (b) rode below 15 mph on average. As a result, I was out for almost two hours but had an average HR of just 96. I enjoyed the company, but could have ridden a lot longer at that pace and would have preferred to at least average a 120 HR.

Wore a cheap pair of Trek shorts that I bought on a whim (thinking that I should have a second pair). Every time I wear them, I regret it. The Pearl Izumi's I wear all the time are not the most expensive shorts, but they are comfortable for long rides. Even though the Treks were just $35, one hates to just throw them away.
