Later on, more interesting things will occupy
this space. For now, just the basics:
I am a third year graduate student here at
the University of
Chicago. I received my
B.A. in philosophy and linguistics from the University of Arizona.
Broadly, I am interested in pragmatics, formal semantics discourse analysis and
syntactic theory. My particular interests include expressions of empathy within
language and the investigation of factors influencing these expressions
cross-linguistically. I frequently flaunt maxims for the sake of comedy. I've
also been known to dabble in the philosophy of language when I'm feeling sassy.
