CURRENT RESEARCH
Washo Language DocumentationI work in the University of Chicago Phonology Lab on The Washo Project. My work includes parsing utterances, glossing morphemes, and transcribing recordings. I am currently working on a joint project with Professor Alan Yu on vowel length, quality and phonotactics in Washo.
I am also studying the morpho-syntax of bipartite verb structure in Washo. Here are the slides from my talk "A compositional approach to bipartite stems in Washo" at SSILA 2010.
PREVIOUS RESEARCH
Hindi/Urdu Temporal SemanticsI worked on the semantics of the Hindi/Urdu lexeme kal, which means both "yesterday" and "tomorrow". Here is my poster "Evidence from Hindi for proximity as a consistent temporal relation" from LSA 2009.
