Katie Franich

Welcome! I am a PhD candidate in linguistics at the University of Chicago.  My interests lie mainly in the area of phonetics and phonology, with a particular focus on production and perception of linguistic tone and its interaction with other aspects of prosodic structure.  Much of my research has drawn heavily on data from Medʉmba, a Grassfields Bantu language spoken in Cameroon.  You can find out more about this and other research interests of mine here.
