This new record by The Fever is pretty good. [record review]

Just got back from Ireland yesterday. Hopefully I'll get around to posting some accounts of my trip herein.

A 9/11 MOMENT

My co-worker stopping at a CVS on the way to work this morning to pick up a bottle of juice. She was waiting impatiently in the checkout line at around 7:45 when a voice came over the store PA and announced, "Attention customers: Please observe a moment of silence now for the victims of 9/11." Everyone in the store stopped what they were doing. But after the PA voice clicked off, while everyone stood motionless, the in-store music resumed: Billy Joel's "She's Always a Woman."

QUESTION & ANSWER

Subject: BuyingTickets+Iamhavingotherproblemsbuyingtickets+Iggy and the Stooges+Detroit+MI
Event_Name: Iggy and the Stooges
City: Detroit
State: MI
Topic: Buying Tickets
Sub-Topic: I am having other problems buying tickets
My_Question: I bought tickets for the Iggy and the Stooges concert last week in Detroit, and when I saw Ticketmaster's exorbitant "convenience charge" (which inflated the price of the ticket by 50%), I was once again disgusted by your deeply unfair and unethical business practices. For the life of me, I can't figure out why the government doesn't step in to regulate the virtual monopoly your company wields. Ticketmaster is an example of what happens when corporate greed runs unchecked. Your company is an enemy of music, art, culture, and progress. I'll be damned if you ever get another dime of my money.

Dear J.,

Thank you for your e-mail. Ticketmaster's main goal is simply to provide a computerized ticket distribution system. Ticketmaster sells tickets on behalf of promoters, teams, bands and venues, which means Ticketmaster does not set the ticket prices or determine seating locations.

Ticketmaster charges an order processing fee on all orders to cover the cost of materials required to print and distribute tickets, regardless whether the tickets will be held at the will call window or shipped to your billing address. These materials include, but are not limited to, such items as ticket stock, ticket printers, ink/toner, and envelopes. If the US Postal Service delivers your tickets, the fee also covers the cost of postage.

If you have any further questions, please reply, and include all previous correspondence.

Sincerely,
Oscar G (Customer Support)
