Types of estoppel
equitable estoppel: A party that makes a representation of fact to another is estopped from denying that fact at trial.
promissory estoppel: In contracts, a promisor may be estopped from denying consideration for a promise made to another acts in reliance on that promise to his detriment. Promissory estoppel is a type of equitable estoppel.
statutory estoppel: “Any entrusting of possession of goods to a merchant who deals in goods of that kind gives him power to transfer all rights of the entruster to a buyer in the ordinary course of business.” UCC 2-403 section 2
