I am an assistant professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Chicago. My research interests cover international political economy and political methodology. Specifically, I study the political economy of international trade and the effects of political institutions on economic growth. My research in political methodology focuses on Bayesian statistics. Using Bayesian statistics I am interested in studying various topics such as discrete data analysis, multilevel (or hierarchical) analysis, and time series cross sectional data analysis. I am a coauthor of MCMCpack, an R package for Bayesian inference.
