Cytoskeleton

The dystrophin-glycoprotein complex helps stabilize the plasma membrane of heart and skeletal muscle.

Membrane fusion

Ferlin proteins have been implicated in membrane fusion events.  Fusion is essential for muscle repair and regeneration.

Vascular Spasm

Vessel spasm leads to a reduction in blood supply and compromised organ function.  Our laboratory has discovered two mechanisms of vascular spasm.

Nuclear Membrane

Defects in the protein scaffold of the nuclear membrane lead to heart and skeletal muscle disease.
