Seahawks @ Bears: bear down

The Seahawks gave us a great game, and despite all of my cursing and general unpleasantness toward Matt Hasselbeck's character before and during the ordeal, I don't hate the guy or anything (and plus, Josh Brown is the clutchest thing outside of Vinatieri these days, I could cry). But yeah, Robbie Gould wins, now and forever. He could be equally clutch in a few years, especially if he learns to kick over 50 yards. His face at the end of the game, though, like holy $*!&, I just took my team to the conference championship, holy $*!&, and all of the Bear hugs and ridiculous grins, and I am so relishing the challenge of destroying "America's Team" on some frigid, galestorming day. Drew Brees, meet Mark Anderson's face. You think that hit on Reggie Bush was hard yesterday? Wait until Urlacher has him in his sights. It's going to be magnificent.
Shaun Alexander was fantastic, but the Bears managed him in the end, and Hester, baby Bear, he should have had a TD all to himself. But that's okay, there's two more games for him to be the glory boy. I'm glad Gould got the spotlight tonight. Thomas Jones, too, with his unbeatable spirit and his swerving runs into the endzone. The defense had some off moments, but when it counted, they got their sacks on. Still not enough takeaways to really please me, but they did their job, and looked good for the most part.
You'll notice that I haven't said anything about Rex Grossman yet. That's because he's going to be just fine. Don't believe me? Let's please recall that throw to Berrian, and repeat the previous sentence. I love the guy, and the glowing smile on his face after the game said it all -- he's pumped up, he's confident, and the goal is in clear view. They just have to reach out and grab it now, put their hands on it and call it destiny.
Bear down, Chicago Bears.
