when we were gorgeous

again, working late in the office. it's 5:52 and everyone is gone, because this is a not for profit.
my shoulder is hurting because I must not have stretched out properly after lifting weights yesterday. (project "get buff" is well underway.) listening to good techno archives from my friend mac's radio show. check him out: www.m50.net. the chicago weather is remarkably cloudy today. I have become used to it being cold and windy because it's usually still clear and sunny. deceptively sunny, because you think it's going to be nice by looking outside, but it is a cruel cruel chicago weather joke. but today is a strangely seattle-like day. I hate the cloudy weather.
oh, the dj has thrown on some old school acid tracks that I recognize from back in the day. have to be from 1993 or earlier, which is ancient in techno years. hot. I myself am looking for the original versions of a couple of songs. one starts out with the line "feed me bass" and it was on an old dj koolaid mixtape that my high school boyfriend copied for me. the other is a track I thought was annoying, but now I wouldn't mind having. features the sample "I am ready" and what is quite possibly the longest breakdown ever. no really, it's a good minute or two. perhaps our good readers would like to know some of the tunes I like to listen to.

favorite 80s 12"s (that I have. remember, I'm a dj. some of these even mix with techno.)
- prince "erotic city"
- wang chung "everybody have fun"
- real life "send me an angel" (<- I looked for this record forever!)
- yellow "heavy breathing"
- wham "everything she wants" (somebody told me, that everything she wants is everything she sees...)

current favorite record - tossup
pepe braddock "burning" (techno anthem. an instant classic!)
technasia "force"
