Currently pursuing his Ph.D in Sociology at the University of Chicago, Chris is writing an ethnography of liberal arts college students with Hamilton College's Eugene M. Tobin Distinguished Professor of Sociology Daniel F. Chambliss, for publication in 2009, along with various related articles intended for publication in education journals. Chris has presented papers, taught, and consulted on topics related to higher education ethnography and institutional research in a variety of capacities since joining the Mellon Foundation Assessment Project in 2003. Chris graduated from Hamilton College in 2005 with a double major in sociology and philosophy, and a Senior Fellowship. He works as a research analyst for a Mellon Foundation assessment grant at Hamilton College, and joined the Social Science Research Council web development team as a content management consultant in February of 2007. Chris' Academic interests include sociological theory, phenomenology, qualitative methodologies, historical sociology, urban sociology, ethnomethodology, social movements, and neoinstitutionalism.
