I am a second-year PhD student in the Linguistics department at the University of Chicago. My interests lie in doing fieldwork on undocumented languages, specifically in the area of phonology. My goal in doing this is to contribute to our understanding of phonological typology and thereby linguistic theory as a whole. I am also interested in the interaction between language, culture, and cognition, as well as community efforts towards language preservation. I also nurture a side-interest in Semantics and the interface between Semantics and Philosophy.
