ahhh spring quarter. last night mike, andy and i went to the fireside to try and forget that school was beginning this morning (and see pin back, who were damn good as well). this morning andy and i debated driving to detroit to see the twins season opener but decided against it when we realized the only tickets we could still buy online were for 60 bucks. instead, we madly drove over to an anthro student's apartment who was giving away furniture, but sadly she was not home. school starts for everyone else today, but all of my classes are tuesday and thursday so it looks like i may be cleaning my room and watching baseball all day. maybe this school thing won't be that bad after all.

okay, so this page looks a little better now, thanks to much help from andy (meaning: i stole all his code and even made him do it for me). anyway, now i can get back to the real reason i have this page, pictures. soon, real soon, perhaps by the time that you read this, i'm going to begin putting south africa pictures up, as well as others. in case it was not evident, i'm back in chicago now where, contrary to andy's fears, i will be staying around all quarter.

back in the ussr....i mean usa. yes, that it correct, i have finally made it back to the united states (well, i've been back for over a week now, but who's counting?) so i will once again resume posting to this web page as it seems wholly disingenuous to communicate via a south africa blog now that i am back. for any of you who are new to this page, having been referred from the aforementioned south africa web blog, prepare to be disapointed. as if that other journal was not pointless enough, this one lacks stories and experiences of being in a far way land. instead, it mostly just chronicles the stupid shit that andy, mike and i do late at night sitting around our apartment or things i happen to be thinking while bored at work. if you think i'm joking, just look at the archives of this page or read andy's page. on the up side, i now possess a digital camera of my own, so there should be even more pictures posted to this site than the past. also, once i get around to it and find the web space, i'm going to put a bunch of my south africa photos on the web for those interested to pursue through.
currently, i am in st. paul (and not minneapolis as lindsay would like to remind me) visiting lindsay and enjoying the spring time weather, although i hear it is supposed to dip down to the mid 40's by the end of the week. for all of you that lived though winter, that may seem warm, but jesus, it feels cold to me. we all like to tell ourselves that being bone numbing cold is a part of winter, that it builds character, that freezing cold days are "crisp" and "clean," but the fact of that matter is that if you get a chance to escape the cold, dreary months of january, february and march, take it. i feel like the people around me are just waking up after a long hibernation.
