all right, so here's the deal. i am leaving for south africa tomorrow morning where i will be studying for the next three months. while there, i plan on keeping a online, web journal (or "blog") for those back in the us to read. i know this sounds sort silly, but my girl friend lindsay was in spain last semester and kept a blog which was really interesting and really helped me connect with her when she was so far away. i don't know how often i'll be able to update this, but i hope to add a little more each day while i am there. i'll be in johannesburg (or Jo'Burg as the locals say) for the first week, so getting to a internet cafe may be tricky, but i know i'll have access once we settle into capetown sometime next week. just keep checking back here for more information.

i leave o'hare airport tomorrow morning at 6am, make one stop in atlanta, and then 17 straight hours to south africa. with any luck, the next update should be from the other side of the world. adios.
