What's New

Summer 2011

Currently I am a research associate at the Office of Population Research at Princeton University. I defended my dissertation at the University of Chicago in June 2011.

I recently coauthored an article with Douglas Massey and Elizabeth Derickson titled, "Do Affordable Housing Projects Harm Suburban Communities? Crime, Property Values, and Property Taxes in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey." The paper is currently under review and available for download on SSRN.

Do Affordable Housing Projects Harm Suburban Communities?

Ongoing Work

I am working with Douglas Massey, Rebecca Casciano, Elizabeth Derickson, and David Kinsey on a MacArthur Foundation funded study of affordable housing in New Jersey. The project will be published as a book.

In addition to the book with Massey et al, I am developing a book manuscript based on my dissertation, titled "Making it out here: Peace and peril in a suburban affordable housing complex."
