About Me
I am a second-year undergraduate at the University of Chicago studying Mathematics and Economics. I am interested in both financial markets and the roles that property law/arbitration and markets can play in developing economies.
I am in the process of completing the Real Analysis, Principles of Economics and introduction to Computer Science sequence. I also am taking a class with Robert Fogel.
During the school year, I work 20 hours a week at Morningstar, Inc. as a generalist intern within the Equity and Credit Research division. I work with analysts from a diverse group of sectors on medium to long-term projects including both general investor strategy projects such as performance tracking of rated equities and sector-specific projects such as evaluating the impact of government regulation on the for-profit education sector. This past summer, I worked at Education Pioneers as an intern within their Chicago office. I researched the state of public education both regionally as well as nationally and developed numerous data appendices that were used in grant applications. I also drafted versions of a $25,000 grant application and developed an internal metrics strategy document.
On campus, I lead pedgagocial training, metrics development and curriculum drafting for Moneythink and am part of The Blue Chips. With my spare time, I enjoy illustrating, cooking, finding hole-in-the-wall restaurants throughout Chicago, watching television shows with highly Dickensian aspects, and playing basketball.
