Our laboratory focuses on designing novel synthetic biomaterials and investigating how they may be engineered to direct biological processes. My work is to design, build and characterize a self-synthesis peptide (biomaterial), which could be used as an adjuvant in the development of vaccine.
Our lab's main research interest is vitamin D endocrine system. I am assisting my lab members with their projects, and also taking care of our lab's mice breeding and husbandry. The projects I focused in are to find the relations between VDR and some human diseases.
My research was focused on the molecular mechanisms of cancer and its potential therapy. I was studying the Bax-mediated apoptotic pathway and its associated signal-transduction network in the progression of prostate cancer using in vitro prostate cancer model systems. I transfected the pro-apoptotic molecules Bax which extracted from other cells to the prostate cancer cell to study the role of the apoptotic machinery in the development of cancer.
My working is focused on the mechanism of exercise induced myocardial injury and the protection of the injury.
