I am currently pursuing a PhD in sociology at the University of Chicago. My research interests are in the history of the social sciences, the sociology of knowledge, and rural development. In addition to my research in these areas, I am also participating in a cooperative research project investigating the effects of academic debate competition on student achievement. I have taught social theory courses in the University of Chicago social science core and assisted in courses on the local politics of globalization. I also teach advanced writing seminars for undergraduate and graduate students.
