The Greater Chicago Food Depository, Chicago's food bank, is a not-for-profit food distribution center providing food for hungry people while striving to end hunger in our community.
Every year, more than 300,000 people from Cook County rely on the Greater Chicago Food Depository. For every dollar donated to the organization, four meals can be made.
The Food Depository distributes donated and purchased food through a network of 600 pantries, soup kitchens and shelters. Tens of thousands of men, women and children each week rely on the food provided by the Food Depository.
Every penny earned from the Drink For Hunger Benefit will be donated directly to the Greater Chicago Food Depository. For more information on feeding Chicago's hungry, please visit: chicagosfoodbank.org.
The Drink For Hunger Benefit is an annual fundraising and awareness event supporting the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Over the past five years, the all-you-can-drink event has raised enough money to supply more than 25,000 meals to Chicago's hungry. We drink. They eat.
Join us for this year's event on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at one of Chicago's most popular bars on the north side, AliveOne. The night consists of DJs, dancing, a raffle, giveaways and more. All profits from this all-you-can-drink evening are donated directly to the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
