| Hi visitor. I am a 4th year PhD student in Sociology at the University of Chicago. My work employs text-mining of science articles to study the scientific enterprise, both historically and presently. In one project, I analyze the prevalence of hedging and expressions of emotion in the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society from 1665 to 2000 and argue that changes in these linguistic features reveal the change in what a scientific article is supposed to do, that is present versus analyze data. | |
