David Herberich graduated from Tufts University with a BA in quantitative economics and holds an MS from the University of Maryland's department of agricultural and resource economics. He is currently working towards his PhD through the University of Maryland's department of agricultural and resource economics.
He works with professor John List running experiments with UC Experiments at the Becker Center. Research topics in current experiments include: incentivizing student achievement, understanding pecuniary and non-pecuniary giving, evaluating "level k" thinking and understanding criminal behavior. His personal research includes evaluating different approaches to motivate technology adoption - specifically of environmental and energy efficient products - and using quasi-experimental approaches to investigate the impact of policies concerning the environment and natural resources; policies considered include the 1990 Clean Air Act Amendment and the Toxics Release Inventory.
