Intro

I am a Lilly-LSRF postdoctoral fellow with Kevin White at the University of Chicago Institute for Genomics and Systems Biology. I was a graduate student with Arend Sidow in the Genetics Department at Stanford University. A recent CV is here. My research focuses on how genotypes produce phenotypes and how they vary and evolve. I'm particularly interested in identifying and experimentally characterizing functional human non-coding sequence variation. I am currently using a combination of experimental and computational approaches on several projects, including: (a) Identification of the environmental and genetic determinants of cell-type specific gene expression variation, (b) Application of nextgen sequencing technologies to discover and characterize genetic variants in human disease, and (c) Characterization of the cis-regulatory architecture of Drosophila, as a part of the modENCODE consortium.
