What I'm Reading

Moby Dick

Last year I started my long and arduous journey on the Pequod, the famous ship in Moby Dick. It has only taken me about nine months to get through half of the journey. Only nine months to go. Not bad. I’m determined to have a nice tan by the time I hit land again.

Until I see you again, please enjoy this video of Led Zeppelin playing Moby Dick live in 1970.

And don’t worry. I can assure you this clip doesn’t spoil anything in the book. . . . Well, at least it hasn't spoiled anything so far.

You can also stare at this book cover of the Penguin Classics Deluxe Edition, which is beautiful, I think.

Look to the Cookie!

Racial harmony can be distilled into one tasty treat, believe it or not. Take a look at this video from Seinfeld to see what I mean. "Look to the cookie, Elaine. Look to the cookie."

There are no ugly questions except those clothed in condescension.
