Research In Brief

In 2008, Project ArAGATS celebrates its 10th anniversary. We just completed our most extensive field season to date with excavations at settlement, fortress, and cemetery sites in the Tsaghkahovit Plain. See the ArAGATS web site for more details.

Teaching In Brief

During autumn quarter 2008, I will be teaching two courses: Power, Identity and Resistance (SS 11102) and Modern Readings in Archaeological Theory (AN 21308).

The 3rd University of Chicago Conference on Eurasian Archaeology was held May 1-3 at the Oriental Institute. We are now preparing the proceedings for publication. For more information on the event and the lineup of speakers, click here.

The complete searchable database of the ArAGATS regional survey in the Tsaghkahovit Plain is now available.

The ArAGATS survey monograph is now in press with the Oriental Institute Press. It should be available by early 2009.
Social Orders and Social Landscapes: The Proceedings of the 2nd University of Chicago Conference on Eurasian Archaeology has been published by Cambridge Scholars Press.
An extensive report on the 2003-2006 field seasons of Project ArAGATS is in press with the journal Archaologische Mitteillungen aus Iran und Turan.
