Welcome to my website! I am currently a doctoral candidate in the Department of Sociology at the University of Chicago. My research focuses on how people create social order, typically in markets and organizations. For my dissertation, I'm examining how a charter school is attempting to establish a new order in a field many argue to be unchangeable. I also run the Volunteer Science platform at Northeastern University where I oversee subject recruitment, experiment development, and organizational strategy. I'm originally from Henderson, North Carolina. I'm a social philosopher who eventually discoverd the pursaisive powers of empirical data grew to need empirical research to test my ideas. This, in combination with my interest in community development, led me to sociology. But, that's enough about me. Unless you want to know more of course.
Lastly, my favorite hobby is coming up with random ideas for businesses, nonprofits, smart phone applications, and art projects among other things. I'll never be able to do anything with 98% of the things I come up with, so I outline them (to a greater or lesser extent) on my Ideas page. Feel free to steal any idea and do what you want with it. I have a CC BY License on them.
